Is Farmville Barn raising Against Facebook’s Terms of Service?

farmville-barn-storage[1] The new introduction of the Farmville Barn Raising feature brings up an interesting dilemma, does it break Facebook Terms of Service, and is it downright abusive? Some users are beginning to find that if they try to share their Barn Raising links on Facebook they will get a message back that says:

‘Some content in this message has been reported as abusive by Facebook users. ‘

Then it doesn’t allow you to complete the post.

Do you think this aggressive sharing is a way to get around the limits sharing limits set by Facebook over the past month and should Zynga think of a different strategy to "raise the barn.”

New Multiple Chicken Coop Glitch in Farmville

The website Farmville Freaks has uncovered yet another Chicken Coop glitch that when executed gives you the ability to obtain more than one of the mystery egg incubating structures. Basically the glitch is your current coop will hatch a new coop. It’s totally weird and random and probably will be fixed within days.

Here is a video explaining the process:

You can learn more about this glitch on Farmville Freaks.

Farmville Storage Expansion Update

The one thing that I love about the game Farmville is that the creators are constantly upgrading the game so that the experience is never the same. In this latest update they are introducing Storage Expansion. Zynga explains it as follows:

Hey Farmers!

You can store more than ever with the new Storage Expansion! Please find a quick guide on how this feature works below.

Storage Expansion:

You can now increase the capacity of your Storage Buildings.

Each of your storage buildings can be upgraded twice. The first upgrade will provide you with 5 extra storage and the second upgrade will provide 7 extra storage. The two upgrades will give you 12 extra storage spaces in total.

There are two ways to expand your Storage. The first way to expand storage is to pay Farm Cash. If you wish to purchase the storage upgrade with FarmVille cash (10 FC), you can do so by clicking the “BUY” button.

Alternatively, you can hold a Barn Raising, by clicking the "Expand Storage" button.

After choosing to expand your storage, you will receive a pop-up, like the one below.

expandstorage[1]

clicking the "okay" button will allow you to post a feed to your wall.

After posting your feed, you will have 3 days to have 10 of your friends click on your feed. (Each of your friends can help ONCE per day (24 hours). Up to a total of 3 times (once per day) during the Barn Raising. This means you do not necessarily need 10 unique friends.

When you click on a friends feed asking for Barn Raising, you will receive 100 coins.

If you wish to “give up” on the barn raising, you can click the “GIVE UP” button and the barn raising will cease. Please keep in mind that you can only raise 1 storage item at a time.

If you do not manage to get 10 clicks on your feed in three days, you can purchase the storage upgrade at a discounted price equivalent to the amount of clicks you received.

The closer you manage to get to 10 clicks, the cheaper it will be to purchase with Farm Cash.

If you have any feedback or opinions you would like to share about this update, please make sure to post in the following thread:

Canadians are addicted to Farmville

farmville_its_ok_to_be_different_tshirt-p235748561702117022t5e4_400[1]

Perhaps its the colder climate, or the lack of global warming killing molecules in the air, but the people up in Canada are enjoying Farmville just as much as the rest of us. Actually there is a whole slew of countries that round up the Top Six Countries using Farmville.

1. United States

2. Turkey

3. The Philippines

4. The United Kingdom

5. Italy

6. Canada

Ok, number six isn’t something to brag about. Farmers in Canada: now is the time to tell everyone you know about Farmville and become more popular on this list. Surely you can beat out Italy and become number five? Eh!

"Initially it’s very addictive," said Toronto television producer Robert Prowse, 59, who says he spends about half an hour a day on the game.

"It was my sister-in-law in Calgary who got me playing because everybody’s looking for neighbours. In order to get points and expand your farm and things like that you have to find other players."

Limits on Farmville Feeding and Fertilizing

Users on the Farmville Fansite, Farmville Freaks began noticing a slight change in the game. Users are unable to fertilize as many neighbors as they previously were used to. The same goes with feeding chickens. For those who are not aware, you are able to visit neighbor’s farms and tend their crops. Normally you are able to visit an unlimited amount of neighbors, but with this glitch or “new feature” you can only fertilize a few of those neighbors.

Zynga is apparently going to fix this – supposedly.

Farmville Bonus Checker Tool

Have you ever grown tired scrolling through your Facebook newsfeed to find Farmville related posts so you can gather Mystery Eggs , gifts, and coin bonuses? Now there is a Facebook Application that gathers all of these posts for you in a tidy single page. The Farmville Bonus Checker Tool gathers all the Farmville related posts in an easy to navigate window.

It shows all the posts from your existing Farmville neighbors. Once you double-click on one of the rewards it will remove it from the list. According to Farmville Freak this application works and is not a scam.

Farmville Achievement: Fenced In

Just like the Egg-Celent Discovery, Farmville has released yet another achievement that Farmville Farmers can strive for. The Fenced In achievement is pretty simple. All you need to do is buy and build fences. It’s much easier to receive the Fenced In ribbons compared to other tasks, but hey we can still brag.

Here is the break down:

Fenced In

  • Yellow Ribbon: Build 5 Fences
  • White Ribbon:Build 50 Fences
  • Red Ribbon:Build 100 Fences
  • Blue Ribbon:Build 250 Fences

Farmville Achievement: Egg-celent Discovery Ribbons

If you hadn’t noticed one of the gaming aspects of Farmville is collecting ribbons, also known as Achievements. You have to pass a certain task before you are awarded XP, Cash, and Ribbons. The newest of these achievements is called the “Egg-Celent Discovery”

All you need to do is collect eggs from your chicken coop. If you happen to get a mystery egg then it goes towards your ribbon counter. Here are the achievement levels:

Egg-celent Discovery

  • Yellow Ribbon:Find 5 Mystery Eggs in your Chicken Coop
  • White Ribbon:Find 10 Mystery Eggs in your Chicken Coop
  • Red Ribbon:Find 25 Mystery Eggs in your Chicken Coop
  • Blue Ribbon:Find 50 Eggs in your Chicken Coop

New Farmville Feature: Feeding Chickens

Zynga has introduced a new Farmville Feature that gives you the ability to feed your neighbors chickens.

When was the last time you visited your neighbor’s farm and got terribly bored because there is nothing to do? Me, this happened a few days ago. I was just clicking on everything to find something I could pet, sit on, or interact with. What I found was nothing. The only thing you can do is clean up your friends farm and fertilize 5 crops. After that its either back to your farm or stand and do nothing.

Be bored no more, with the new Feeding Chickens feature you can fatten up your neighbor’s chickens and if you are lucky they will produce a mystery egg! Zynga wrote a lengthly post to introduce the new feature on the official Farmville Forums:

Hey Farmers!

You can now feed chickens in your Neighbors Coops to increase the chance of finding Mystery Eggs! Please find a quick guide on how this feature works below.

Feeding Chickens:
Upon collecting from your Coop, if you don’t find a Mystery Egg, a pop-up will appear informing you that you can ask your Neighbors to feed your chickens in order to increase your chances of finding Mystery Eggs.

If you do not find a Mystery Egg when collecting, never fear! Users now have a chance of receiving coin bonuses from collecting "extra nice" eggs from their coops.

coinsforeggs[1]

If you would like to ask your Neighbors to feed your chickens, clicking the "okay" button will allow you to post a feed to your wall.

Neighbors that visit your farm (either through the feed or when visiting normally) are able to feed your chickens once every 24 hours.

You will not be able to feed your Neighbors chickens until you have fertilized their crops as well. If your neighbor has no crops to fertilize, you will be able to feed their chickens as per normal.

Users who feed their Neighbors chickens will receive 1 XP and 4 coins. They also have a probability to find a maximum of three Mystery Eggs per harvest period (24 hours).

Upon finding Mystery Eggs on a Neighbors farm due to feeding their chickens, you will be given the option to post a Feed to your wall to share the Mystery Eggs, just the same as finding Mystery Eggs on your own farm.

If no Mystery Eggs are found, you will receive a pop-up informing you of such.

Upon returning to your farm after your chickens have been fed, a pop-up will appear to inform you who has fed your chickens while you were away.

Funny Farmville Parody Video

Are you beginning to see how pointless Farmville really is? This video gives us all a reality boost. Farmville might be the most popular game of last year, arguably the last decade – but there is just something about it that irks me.
